Brigade contracting

In 1987, the Brigadny Podrak group was founded in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Its leader and main songwriter was Yegor Letov, who also led another legendary Russian punk band, Civil Defense. The brigade performed bright and aggressive punk rock with a social and political orientation, whose lyrics caused scandals and controversy.

The group actively performed on the underground music scene of Leningrad, and its concerts were often accompanied by provocative performances and scandals. They managed to gain popularity among young people and become one of the symbols of punk culture of the 1980s in the USSR.

In 1994, the Brigadny Podrak group broke up after performing at a festival in St. Petersburg. Egor Letov continued his musical career with other projects, but Brigadnyy Podrak is still considered one of the most significant and influential punk bands in the history of Russian rock music.
