The Laughter group was formed in 1999 in Istra (Moscow region) by two brothers: Maxim (Gruzin) and Sergey (Chup). They call their unique style “Californian punk rock,” playfully hinting at their hometown and their idols from sunny California – NOFX and RANCID. Since its founding, the group has gone through many changes, but their passion for music and sincerity in self-expression has remained constant.
For a long time, the group was looking for the ideal drummer who would not only meet the musical criteria, but also share their common values. Recently, a new drummer Andrey (Krivoy) joined the band, becoming a full-fledged member of the group and bringing fresh energy to their work.
Laughter's musical tastes range from classic punk rock inspired by the Sex Pistols and Ramones to more modern and diverse forms of punk such as NOFX, No Use For A Name, Lagwagon and others. Their lyrics reflect a wide range of topics, from social criticism to personal experiences, and are always filled with sincerity and energy.
The group actively tours throughout Russia and abroad, performing at various festivals and concerts. In their discography – numerous albums and singles that have received acclaim from both fans and critics. One of the significant events in their career was participation in the annual festival “INVASION” in 2005.
