Igor Matvienko — an outstanding Soviet and Russian composer, producer and public figure, awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia in 2022. He began his musical career in January 1981, working in various musical groups, such as VIA «First Step», VIA «Hello, Song» and VIA «Hello, Song». and «Class», where he acted as a composer, artistic director and keyboard player.
From 1987 to 1990, Matvienko worked at the Record Popular Music Studio, where he became a music editor. During this period, he, together with vocalist Nikolai Rastorguev and songwriter Alexander Shaganov, founded the legendary group «Lyube», for which he wrote music and made arrangements. In 1991, Igor Matvienko headed his own production center, which allowed him to significantly expand his creative horizons.
One of the key stages of his career was participation in the musical projects of Channel One «Star Factory-1» in 2002 and «Star Factory-5» in 2004, where he acted as producer and director. These projects paved the way for many talented performers and became an important part of Russian musical culture.
In February 2014, Igor Matvienko became the music producer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. His arrangement for the «Mirror World» stage, which combined the compositions «One among strangers, a stranger among one’s own» Eduard Artemyev and «Goodbye, Moscow» Alexandra Pakhmutova, left an unforgettable impression on viewers around the world.
