HC Severstal

The Severstal hockey club from Cherepovets, founded on December 18, 1955, is one of the most respected and stable teams in Russian hockey. Over its long history, the club has undergone several name changes, but has always remained at the top. From 1957 to 1958, the team was called Stroitel, and from 1959 to 1994 - Metallurg. From 1992 to 2008, Severstal played in the Super League, and since 2008 has been a member of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

The Severstal team can boast significant achievements: silver medalist of the Russian championship in the 2002/03 season, bronze medalist of the Russian championship in 2000/01 and winner of the «Storm of Authorities» prize in the 1997/98 season.
