HC Dynamo Minsk

Hockey club "Dynamo" Minsk is a professional ice hockey team from Minsk, Belarus. The club was founded in 1948 and actively participated in the championships of the BSSR and the USSR. For 5 seasons the club played in the top league of the USSR championship, achieving its best result - 10th place in the 1989/1990 championship. In 1993, the club changed its name to Tivali. and ceased to exist in 2000. However, in 2003 the club was revived under the Dynamo brand. and began performing in the Belarusian Championship, where he won all possible awards, including the National Cup.

Since 2008, Dynamo represents Belarus in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and has reached the Gagarin Cup playoffs four times. Immediately after the official confirmation of the participation of the Belarusian club in the KHL championship on March 26, 2008, the club began forming a new team. Despite the fact that other name options have been proposed, such as “Partizan” and “Minsk Bisons”, the management of the FHRB decided to preserve the traditional “Dynamo” brand. Exceptionally, before the opening of the new Minsk Arena for 15 thousand seats, the KHL allowed Dynamo hold their home matches in the Minsk Sports Palace, which seats 3,311 spectators.
