The Rotor football club was founded in 1929 on the basis of a local tractor plant. From the very beginning of its existence, the team showed its strength and ambitions, making its debut in the USSR Cup. In 1939, Rotor took fourth place in the national championship, confirming his high quality of play. The club at that time was called “Traktor”.
Despite difficult periods in its history, Rotor continued to fight and achieve success. In 2006, the team returned to the second division after temporarily leaving the top league due to financial problems. In 2009, Rotor faced serious difficulties, but thanks to the support of the sponsor, it was able to return to the second division of the “South” zone.
In the 2016/17 season, Rotor took first place in the second division of the “South” zone. and returned to the FNL. And in the 2019/20 season, the team took first place in the FNL and, after 16 years, returned to the Premier League. It was an incredible success for FC Rotor!
