FC Akhmat

Football club Akhmat is a professional soccer team based in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic, Russia. The club was founded in 2001 and has its roots in the Terek team, but after the team changed its name and relocated to Grozny it became known as Akhmat in honor of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, the father of Ramzan Kadyrov, the first president of Chechnya.
