About event
Ballet "Russian Hamlet" Boris Eifman, set to the music of L. Beethoven and G. Mahler, is a unique work addressing the figure of Paul I. Choreographer Boris Eifman brilliantly depicted the tragic confrontation of this extraordinary and mentally fragile personality with a hostile world built on violence and lies. The performance is limited to the period of succession of Paul I, which allows us to more deeply reveal his inner world and drama.
Over the years of its stage life, the play has been a huge success in various countries, including the USA, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, China, South Korea and Argentina. Critics praised Eifman's work, noting his special gift for electrifying images and theatrical fantasies. The New York Times called Boris Eifman “virtually the only choreographer” capable of creating such emotionally rich and sophisticated works.
The National Center for the Performing Arts will host a tour of the B. Eifman Ballet Theater with the production of “Russian Hamlet”. The center is known for its excellent acoustics and modern equipment, which makes it an ideal venue for such large-scale and emotionally rich performances. Viewers will be able to enjoy outstanding choreography and soulful music in a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment.
