The Theatre of Nations invites you to "Cabaret"
This is the first officially licensed version of the legendary musical in Russia, based on the original libretto by Joe Masteroff and the works of Christopher Isherwood. Director Evgeny Pisarev has created a true theatrical show, combining dramatic depth, musical accompaniment, and spectacular dance numbers that convey the atmosphere of 1930s Berlin—the prelude to the Nazi dictatorship.
The musical's plot unfolds against the backdrop of tragic social change—the fall of the Weimar Republic and the onset of dark times, when people seek refuge from the current events in the illusory atmosphere of cabaret. Through the lives and destinies of ordinary people, the play explores the dilemmas of choice: remain in the old world, adapt to new conditions, or leave the country in search of salvation. Accurately recreated costumes, sets, and authentic music and songs of the period create a complete immersion in the era, enhancing the dramatic effect and imbuing the production with emotional power.
The performance runs approximately two hours with an intermission. Audiences will enjoy a vibrant musical and dance show featuring live performances, professional choreography, and an atmosphere that provokes reflection on the value of personal freedom and responsibility in history. The musical "Cabaret" is not only a theatrical art form, but also an opportunity to experience difficult historical events through the prism of personal stories.
Tickets for the performance "Cabaret" at the Theatre of Nations are a chance to attend one of the main theatrical premieres of the season and enjoy an amazing combination of history, music, and drama!
