Immerse yourself in the world of the play "Once Upon a Time. There Was a House" at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater
The play "Once Upon a Time. There Was a House" at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater invites audiences to immerse themselves in a world where nine stories intertwine to form a single ending. These stories, filled with humor and sadness, are relatable to all of us, as they touch on eternal questions of faith in love, friendship, and destiny.
Nineteen characters come to life on stage: 13 people and 6 animals—rats, parrots, a cat, and a dog. They all live under one roof, creating a unique atmosphere of home, where each spectator can see a reflection of their own joys and sorrows.
Konstantin Khabensky notes: “Our performance is a folk tale for adults, reminiscent of Teremok. In the modern world, there is a shortage of kind fairy tales with interesting dialogues and unexpected plot twists. We are talking about souls - both human and animal - that require attention and respect.” The performance unites all the characters through one event that will change their destinies.
Alexander Tsypkin adds: “Konstantin Yuryevich’s idea is so precise and captivating that my task was only not to spoil it with my plots. This is a story about happiness and the choices we make every day.”
The production takes place on the stage of the A.P. Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, one of the most famous theatres in Russia. Its walls preserve the memory of many great performances, and now “Zhil. Once Upon a Time. House." Buy tickets on our website now to become part of this amazing story.
