Concert of the Year: Basta and Guf on the Luzhniki stage
Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) and Alexey Dolmatov (Guf) first crossed paths in the early 2000s, and their collaboration in 2010 culminated in the landmark album "Basta/Guf." The album became an instant hit, its compositions were played everywhere, and the duo's concerts drew packed houses. However, after this successful period, disagreements arose between the musicians, which put their collaboration on hold for many years.
More than a decade later, the artists were able to overcome past grievances and reunite. Their return to the stage in 2024 was a true sensation. Now they're preparing a spectacular show at Luzhniki Stadium, where fans will be able to enjoy live performances of not only tracks from the legendary album, such as "My Game," "Boarded Up," "Samurai," and "Another Wave," but also solo works by each of them, which have long since captured the hearts of listeners.
This concert is expected to feature both classic hits and potentially new compositions. It is speculated that the artists are working on a second joint album, and this performance could become the platform for the presentation of fresh material. This lends the upcoming event a special intrigue and significance.
The concert at Luzhniki Stadium will be more than just a meeting of two artists on the same stage—it will be a landmark event. Given the different stages of their careers: Basta is currently at the pinnacle of his popularity, while Guf has previously hinted at the end of his musical career. Their joint performance takes on special significance and could be one of the last chances to see these masters of Russian rap together.
