Budapest fiasco: Why Verstappen's failure threatens a tough title battle
Saturday's qualifying session revealed that the upcoming weekend would be challenging: Verstappen failed to secure pole position, losing ground to the Ferrari and McLaren drivers. The situation only worsened in Sunday's race. A poor start dropped him several positions, and heavy traffic on the narrow Hungarian circuit, where overtaking is extremely difficult, prevented him from regaining his position. The team also made a mistake with tire selection during the only pit stop, which completely ruined Max's chances of fighting for a podium place. Ultimately, he finished only ninth, losing a significant number of points.
This result was a real gift for his main rivals, who took advantage of the leader's miss. Now, before the summer break, Verstappen's lead in the championship has narrowed significantly, and the second half of the season promises to be very tense.
While the teams are working to analyze their mistakes and prepare for the decisive battles, all eyes are on the championship finale in Abu Dhabi. The grand finale of the season will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit from 5 to 7 December 2025. It is here that the name of the world champion will be determined. This round is often called the Dubai Grand Prix due to its luxurious atmosphere and proximity to the emirate.
The race in Abu Dhabi is not just a sporting competition, but a real show. The race begins at sunset and ends under a dazzling display of fireworks. Concerts of world stars and an incredible festive atmosphere make this weekend unforgettable.
Don't miss your chance to witness the historic denouement! Tickets for the final Grand Prix of the 2025 season in Abu Dhabi are now available. Reserve your best seats and be the first to know who will be crowned Formula 1 champion in this exciting season.
