Mikhail Shufutinsky will perform at Lakhta Hall on October 3, 2025
Mikhail Shufutinsky was born in Moscow to a Jewish family three years after the end of World War II. From an early age, music became an integral part of his life. At the age of seven, he began learning to play the accordion at a music school. After completing his studies at the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music College, Mikhail played in various ensembles, including an orchestra led by Leonid Utesov. In the 1970s, he led the Leisya, Pesnya ensemble, which performed popular Soviet compositions.
In 1981, Mikhail and his family emigrated to the United States. In America, he began a solo career, performing in clubs and restaurants. At first, it was not easy, since no one was waiting for him overseas. It was then that his unique style was formed - a combination of urban romance, criminal song and pop music. In the 1980s and 1990s, Shufutinsky became extremely popular among Russian-speaking emigrants. His concerts were sold out, and his albums were sold in huge numbers.
In 1990, Mikhail toured Russia for the first time since leaving, where his performances were a stunning success. This inspired him to return to his homeland. In 2003, he finally settled in Moscow and continued releasing albums and giving concerts. The disc "Gulyai, dusha", released in 1998, marked his return to the Moscow stage.
Shufutinsky collaborated with such famous poets and composers as Igor Krutoy, Vyacheslav Dobrynin, Alexander Rosenbaum and many others. He recorded duets with Lyubov Uspenskaya, Irina Allegrova, Alsou and other popular performers.
Mikhail Shufutinsky is the winner of many prestigious awards, such as the "Chanson of the Year" and "Golden Gramophone" awards. He is fond of collecting watches and expensive cars, and is also actively involved in charity. For example, he donated the fee for the song "Marjanja", which was included in the soundtrack to the Hollywood film "The Code", to charity in 2008.
Today, Mikhail Yakovlevich is the father of two sons and the grandfather of several grandchildren. Despite his age, he continues to actively perform and record new songs, staying out of show business scandals. During his career, he has become not just a singer, but a symbol of the era of Russian chanson.
Tickets for Mikhail Shufutinsky's concert at Lakhta Hall will provide an opportunity to enjoy both the artist's famous hits and his new works!
