This summer, the Bolshoi Moscow Circus will host the IDOL 2025 festival
After many years of waiting and trials, the international festival of circus arts will once again return to the capital of Russia. From July 17 to 20, 2025, the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue will be the venue for this significant event. Spectators will enjoy exciting circus performances, in which participants will compete in two competition programs. The event will end with a gala show with an award ceremony.
The history of the Idol festival began in 2013, when famous predator trainers, the Zapashny brothers, decided to create a grand competition for circus performers from all over the world. Since then, this festival has become one of the most significant and anticipated events in the world of circus, annually attracting the best artists from all over the world. For spectators, this is a unique opportunity to see the most modern and innovative circus acts, and for professionals, a chance to exchange experiences and make new creative contacts. The main goal of the Idol festival is to support and develop circus art, preserve its traditions and search for new forms of expression. The organizers strive to show the public a variety of genres: from classical acrobatics and training to modern performances using the latest technology.
In 2025, artists from more than 20 countries will perform at the festival. Spectators will be able to see laureates of international competitions, winners of prestigious awards, as well as rising stars of the circus arena. The program includes aerial gymnasts, acrobats, jugglers, trainers, clowns and other masters of their craft.
The IDOL festival is famous for its strict selection of participants and high level of organization. A competent international jury, which includes famous figures of circus arts, directors, producers and critics, media representatives and spectators evaluate the artists' performances. The festival awards - "Golden IDOL", "Silver IDOL" and "Bronze IDOL" - are a symbol of recognition of the high skill of the participants. In terms of prestige, our festival has already become equal to such famous events as the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo (Monaco), the Parisian "Cirque de Demain" and the Chinese "Wuqiao".
In 2024, one of the gold awards was presented to the Chinese acrobats from Suining under the direction of Tong Ronghua. Their number "Balance with Bowls on the Head" won the hearts of the audience and the jury thanks to the incredible skill and precision of execution. This complex number requires not only honed acrobatic skills, but also the highest concentration and sense of balance. The performance of the Chinese acrobats was a real triumph of their many years of work and dedication to art.
