The Leningrad group will perform on the stage of the Fetisov Arena.
The modern sports and concert complex Fetisov Arena is located in Vladivostok, which is the home arena for the Admiral hockey club. It opened in 2013, and since then the arena can accommodate up to 5,500 spectators at hockey matches and up to 7,500 at concerts. Sports events, concerts, exhibitions and other events are regularly held here. Therefore, the upcoming concert of the Leningrad group promises to be a bright event.
In the nineties, when pop music in the person of such groups as Ivanushki and Diskoteka Avaria filled the airwaves, the Leningrad group became a real sensation. Founded in St. Petersburg by Igor Vdovin, the group soon came under the leadership of Sergei Shnurov. Under his leadership, the group quickly gained popularity thanks to provocative lyrics, the use of brass instruments and incredible energy during performances. Despite constant changes in the group's lineup, this did not prevent them from creating hits that became a symbol of an entire era.
Over time, the style of Leningrad transformed from daring ska-punk to a more mature and complex sound, while maintaining its characteristic irony and provocation. Experiments with music and the introduction of female vocals, first by Yulia Kogan and then by Alisa Vox, expanded the band's audience and brought them even greater popularity. The lyrics became more social, reflecting Russian realities with their problems and contradictions. Sergey Shnurov challenges social stereotypes through his songs and questions many generally accepted beliefs. For example, in love lyrics, he condemns lies and insincerity in relationships. In social topics, he exposes social cliches. Shnurov has repeatedly stated that his songs are not so much creativity as a way to look at reality from a new angle.
Despite the scandalous reputation and the abundance of foul language in the lyrics, the group has repeatedly taken part in major state events, which indicates the recognition of their creativity at a high level. The band's music often attracts the attention of film directors; their compositions became soundtracks for famous films such as "Election Day", "Boomer", "DMB-2" and "Moth Games".
Sergey Shnurov is a significant figure in Russian culture: the outrageous, unpredictable and talented artist has become the voice of a generation that is not afraid to tell the truth directly. His lyrics are full of obscenities and colloquial expressions that reflect the speech of people tired of hypocrisy and gloss. Shnurov is a symbol of the protest scene of the postmodern era; his songs focus the attention of listeners on the chorus with obscenities, which becomes a kind of manifesto against the ordinary.
In addition to his musical activities, Sergey Shnurov tried himself as a TV host of various shows and even organized exhibitions of his paintings, which were successfully sold for large sums. Despite all his outrageousness, he remains a thinking person with a subtle sense of art.
