Metallica to perform at Abu Dhabi racing event.
Metallica is part of the legendary "big four" bands that laid the foundations of thrash metal along with such bands as Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. However, Metallica is not just a musical group, but a real cultural phenomenon that has had a significant impact on the development of metal and rock music in general. The story of their success is a journey from the first rehearsals in a garage to sold-out concerts in stadiums, from the status of an underground band to worldwide fame. It all began in 1981 in Los Angeles, when James Hetfield (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Lars Ulrich (drums) met. Ulrich, who came from Denmark, dreamed of becoming a drummer, and Hetfield was looking for like-minded people to form his own band. Their first album, Kill 'Em All, became the starting point for the creation of aggressive and uncompromising thrash metal.
Following the commercial triumph of ...And Justice for All, the band released the self-titled Metallica, better known as the Black Album, in 1991. This release marked a change in their sound from traditional thrash metal to more accessible radio-friendly compositions. As a result, it became the band's best-selling album and one of the most successful albums in music history.
Despite their enormous success, the members of Metallica were not afraid to experiment with a new sound. The albums Load (1996) and Reload (1997) demonstrated their departure from their traditional style to alternative rock and hard rock. While these changes were met with mixed reviews from fans, they were commercially successful.
The band faced personal and professional difficulties in the 2000s, which were depicted in the documentary Some Kind of Monster. Despite this, they continued to release new albums and tour the world. Albums such as St. Anger (2003), Death Magnetic (2008), and Hardwired…to Self-Destruct (2016) marked a return to a heavier sound while maintaining an experimental approach.
Metallica continues to be one of the most influential live bands in the world. Their live shows are known for their energy and powerful visuals. They continue to sell out stadiums and festivals around the world, demonstrating the relevance of their music. Therefore, it is worth buying tickets for the Metallica concert «Etihad Park» on our website in advance.
