From June 8 to 15, the Vakhtangov Theatre will once again present the beloved Moscow production of Mademoiselle Nitouche on its stage.

The plot centers on young Denise de Flavigny, a convent student who dreams of a career on stage. Inspired by the composer Celestin, she runs away to Paris, where unexpected twists of fate await her: theatrical intrigues, romantic stories and amazing transformations. Although the original operetta may seem a bit simple, director Vladimir Ivanov brought it to the stage so skillfully that Mademoiselle Nitouche has become an integral part of the Vakhtangov Theatre repertoire. Particular attention is paid to visual aesthetics: luxurious costumes, bright scenery and mesmerizing lighting create a truly festive atmosphere. Artist Svetlana Sinitsina was responsible for the stage design and costumes, and the live orchestra and vocals add a unique sound to the production. The play offers the audience everything necessary for an unforgettable evening at the theatre: a gripping plot, masterful acting, memorable musical numbers and a festive mood.

From the very beginning of the production, Maria Aronova plays the role of the headmistress of the boarding school of heavenly swallows. She does not simply play Madame Yvonne, the headmistress of the boarding school for noble girls; she fills this image with life, demonstrating a unique mastery of improvisation. The heroine's pseudonym is "Nitouche", which in French means a feigned untouchable. Aronova masterfully reveals this versatility of her heroine's character through constant reincarnations on stage. Director Ivanov reduced the number of musical numbers to less than half of the original twenty-six and expanded the role of the mother-headmistress, thanks to which she is present in all three acts instead of the two original appearances. Critics unanimously note Aronova's virtuoso performance, emphasizing her ability to create a bright and memorable image. Her Madame Yvonne is not just a comic character; she is a living woman with contradictory character traits and dreams. Aronova makes the audience empathize with her heroine, laugh with her and worry about her.

According to Ivanov's idea, students of the Shchukin School - 12 boys and 8 girls - participate in each show along with the theater artists. They begin to play in the play from their second year of study and perform for about a year and a half before changing the cast.

Tickets for the play "Mademoiselle Nitouche" at the Vakhtangov Theater are an excellent choice for those who want to escape from everyday worries and immerse themselves in a world of bright colors and emotions with live music, dancing and funny situations!
