This winter, Metallica will delight fans in Abu Dhabi!
The band has sold 57 million albums in the United States and even more abroad. Total worldwide sales have exceeded 90 million copies, making them one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history. The name "Metallica" came from the drummer, who suggested it for the new band, inviting James Hetfield. Their unique speed, virtuoso playing and powerful energy made them pioneers among thrash metal bands, along with such giants as "Megadeth", "Anthrax" and "Slayer". Among their many multi-platinum albums, the self-titled 1991 album, known as "The Black Album", stands out, having sold almost 17 million copies in the United States and became one of the best-selling. The band has won numerous awards throughout their career, including nine Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
In the early days, Metallica featured special areas at their concerts for fans to record their performances. In the 1980s, they became known for their uncompromising approach to music. With the release of their album in 1991, the band gained even more popularity thanks to shorter songs that retained their signature style.
Today, the band has an 83-person crew that travels with the musicians all over the world. During their frequent tours, each member has a personal chef and dentist, and Lars Ulrich has a special assistant to operate the computer.
Over the years, the band has experienced many trials and triumphs. However, no one doubts that they remain one of the greatest rock musicians of our time! Get tickets to see them in Abu Dhabi for a chance to witness a stunning show from rock legends!
