Maestro Spivakov and Denis Matsuev: Beethoven at the House of Music
The long-awaited concert will take place on the stage of the Moscow International House of Music, which will bring together two outstanding figures of classical music: maestro Vladimir Spivakov and pianist Denis Matsuev. That evening, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the direction of Spivakov will perform masterpieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, including Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" and Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as "Imperial".
Symphony No. 3, originally dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, reflects the complex historical events and personal experiences of Beethoven. The composer, disappointed in Napoleon after he was proclaimed emperor, changed the name of the symphony, leaving only a hint of heroism in it. Concerto No. 5, written in 1809 in besieged Vienna, is filled with drama and grandeur. Legend has it that the name "Imperial" came from a French officer's enthusiastic exclamation at the premiere.
Denis Matsuev, a recognized master of piano playing, will perform the "Imperial" concerto, demonstrating his skill and deep understanding of Beethoven's music. Matsuev, known for his virtuosity and emotional expressiveness, is not only an outstanding musician, but also an active public figure, heading several foundations and festivals.
