In September 2022, the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) announced the creation of a new team – "Russia 25", which will bring together young and promising players to participate in the 2026 Olympics. The team has already played a series of friendly matches, in which they won seven victories, playing against Belarus and Kazakhstan.
