Vikharev, who became a true admirer of the work of Marius Petipa and one of the leading representatives of ballet authenticism in Russia, restored the unique edition of “Coppelia” from 1894.
The history of this ballet, born at the Paris Opera in 1870, has become an integral part of the cultural heritage. Saint-Leon, who mixed fantasy and comic history in this work, set the tone for future generations. The premiere of the new edition of the ballet at the Bolshoi Theater was a real triumph and a recreation of the ideal artistic order.
