The Anton Chekhov Theater is the first private theater that appeared in Russia after the nationalization of theaters in 1919. Founded in 1989 by Leonid Trushkin and Evgeny Rogov, this theater became the first non-state theater in modern Russia and successfully operates without financial support from the state.
Performances of the Anton Chekhov Theater take place on the stage of the Palace on Yauza, starting in September 2022.
