Eight loving women in Moscow, Maly Theater

On stage  will show the production “Eight Loving Women”. It is based on the play “8 Women” by the French writer Robert Thomas. This is one of the most frequently performed works in cinema and theater. But the most famous was the film by the French director François Ozon, starring Catherine Deneuve, Fanny Ardant and Isabelle Huppert.

Christmas atmosphere, snow-capped mountains, French chalet near Paris. A large family gathers for the holiday – the master of the house, his wife, wife's sister, daughter, stepdaughter, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, maid and maid. And while preparations are underway, the daughter discovers the head of the family killed. Outsiders could not enter the mansion. Absolutely any of the eight women comes under suspicion, especially since each of them has a motive. In the search for the criminal, a very large number of dirty secrets of the heroines are discovered and their real attitude towards the murdered man is revealed.

Director Olesya Nevmerzhitskaya and production designer Anna Fedorova united so many different, interesting and strong characters in their work. The choreography was staged by Ramune Khodorkaite. The main roles were played by “stars” artists: Olga Kabo, Anna Mikhailovskaya, Ekaterina Guseva, Olga Ostroumova, Anastasia Makeeva, Anna Galinova, Tatyana Khramova, Glafira Lebedeva, Anastasia Belova, Evdokia Kareva, Daria Balabanova, Maria Knushevitskaya, Anna Garnova, Evgenia Kryukova and Liliya Volkova. This performance – an ode to female beauty, deceit, cunning, but at the same time the inevitable sympathy that you feel for the heroines, despite their significant shortcomings.
