The State Academic Maly Theater presents We present to your attention the play "Wolves and Sheep", created based on the play of the same name by Alexander Ostrovsky. This comedy, first staged in an updated version in 1994, remains relevant today, touching on the eternal themes of the struggle between good and evil and honesty and deceit.
The play unfolds around the judicial history of 1874, when the abbess was convicted of her scams. This case inspired Ostrovsky to create a play in which the characters embody the images of "wolves" and "sheep". The plot shows how easy it is to get confused in these roles, when predators become victims, and simple-minded heroes become clever manipulators.
The play takes place on the historical stage of the Maly Theater, one of the oldest theater venues in Moscow. The architectural splendor of the building and its unique atmosphere create the perfect conditions for immersion in the world of classical drama.
