In the spring of 2026, Belarus will host an international figure skating tournament, the Commonwealth Cup.In 2024, a new event appeared in the sports calendar of our figure skaters, this time in an international format. The first Commonwealth Cup was held in the 2024/2025 season. It consisted of two stages: the first was held in Minsk, and the second in Kaluga. Athletes from five countries participated in the previous Cup draw, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and China, including figure skaters who participated in the Olympic Games in Beijing. A total of 26 categories were presented, and the total number of participants was 385 people. Russian figure skaters won a number of victories at that time: Peter Gumennik, Ekaterina Anisimova, Vladimir Oshchepkov, Veronika Yametova, as well as the athletic pair Milana Kuzmina and Dmitry Studenikin won gold. At the end, the skaters presented an interesting demonstration program to the audience. The upcoming tournament will show who will bring new gold to our country, as well as who our skaters will compete with.
The details of the upcoming competition program will be announced closer to the start of the tournament. However, it is already clear that the competition is expected to be high.
