The 25th round of the Russian U25 ice hockey team will host a match against the Belarusian national team at the Minsk Arena. This event represents a unique opportunity to see young and promising players in action.
The Belarusian ice hockey team has long established itself in the international arena. Their best result at the World Championships was 6th place in 2006, and at the Olympics they finished 4th in 2002. They currently occupy 14th place in the International Hockey Federation rankings.
The Russian U25 national team, known as "Russia 25", was created in September 2022 with the aim of increasing the popularity of hockey. The team consists of young players who have the prospect of taking part in the 2026 Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. In the team name, the number "25" indicates the average age of the players, but there is no strict limit.
Russia 25 has already held a number of friendly matches in different cities, including Chelyabinsk, Astana, Krasnoyarsk, Tula and Minsk. The team won seven victories and lost twice to the Belarusian national team in Minsk and Astana.
