Description

The Kurgan Regional Philharmonic is a well-known and at the same time the only cultural institution in the Trans-Urals that is professionally engaged in educational and concert activities in the field of classical music.

The history of this cultural institution begins during the war years, in 1943. Over the years, the Philharmonic has become an integral part of the history of his native land. The very first concert hall was opened here in the building where the women's gymnasium was once located on Kuibyshev Street. Outstanding performers of their time, such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran, Boris Shtokolov and Irina Arkhipova, often performed on the stage of this Philharmonic.

Today it is difficult to imagine the city of Kurgan without a beautiful snow-white palace towering over the Tobol River. The modern building of the Kurgan Philharmonic has become a landmark of the regional center, and the city itself has become one of the major Russian cities with an interesting and eventful concert life.

The Philharmonic includes two concert halls - a large one with 1100 seats and a Chamber one with 160 seats. The halls are equipped with a huge stage and orchestra pit, as well as rehearsal rooms. All this makes it possible to hold concerts of the most famous orchestras, as well as choral and choreographic groups. Among them are the State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after E. F. Svetlanov, the State Academic Symphony Chapel of Russia, the Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra and others.

Both concert halls are built according to modern trends and equipped with good equipment that allows theatrical productions, circus performances and film premieres to be held here.

The most popular are children's concerts, where their relatives and friends come to watch young stars. The Children's Philharmonic recently turned exactly 35 years old. This place holds a lot of positive emotions and will be happy to share them with future generations.
