Valby Park in Copenhagen

Description

Valby Park (Valbyparken) is a park in Valby, Copenhagen. This park is located on the territory where Valby Fælled was previously located, used as a landfill from 1913 to 1937. In the period from 1937 to 1939, it was transformed into a park and has been available to the public since September 1, 1939.

The park was officially recognized as a protected area on May 3, 1966.

After Copenhagen was awarded the status of the European City of Culture in 1996, 17 themed circular gardens were created in the park.
