DS Labor in Irkutsk

Description

"Labor" is a sports complex in the Right-Bank district of Irkutsk, the main sports ground of the city. It is used for city and regional athletics competitions, football matches of the Russian Championship (until 2006), matches of the Russian bandy championship. The Trud Sports Complex is simultaneously the largest sports and concert arena in Irkutsk. Up to 25,000 people can watch various events at a time. The stadium was once the home arena of the Zvezda football club, which was disbanded in 2006. Periodically, the SK Trud arena hosts home meetings of the local Zenit Irkutsk football team and the Baikal-Energia bandy team.

The stadium was built in the middle of the last century. It opened in 1957. A new sports arena was being built on the site of the burned-down gymnastics town with the loud name Avangard, which had been the main sports ground of the city since 1923.

In 1951, the gymnasium burned down. The new, already stone, stadium was built by prisoners. And in 1957, the stadium got a new and proud name "Trud" and a square of the same name along Lenin Street. In 1985, a Hungarian electronic scoreboard was installed at the stadium.

The stadium can accommodate up to 25 thousand fans. But at the semifinal match of the Russian bandy championship "Sibskan" - "Vodnik", 31,000 spectators were recorded (March 2, 1999).

In 2013 and 2014, in accordance with the requirements of Federal legislation, SK "Trud" successfully passed certification and was included in the Federal Register of Sports Facilities. The type of facility, according to the Classifier of sports facilities: Multifunctional sports complex.
