Hayk Petrossyan "Merci Charles" in Dubai, Zabeel Theatre - Jumeriah Zabeel Saray

Hayk Petrossyan's "MERCI CHARLES" project, launched in May 2021, pays tribute to the great Charles Aznavour through a unique jazz interpretation of his iconic songs. This project quickly gained popularity thanks to the accompaniment of talented musicians such as Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Arman Mnatsakanyan, Dave Gedakian and Daniel Melkonyan. Since its inception, MERCI CHARLES has held numerous concerts throughout Armenia and attracted international audiences with performances in Lebanon and Russia.

In 2022, the project released a widely acclaimed CD titled “Le Jazz Aznavourise”, which was renamed “French Kiss – A Tribute to Charles” in 2023. In 2023, the project also rebranded its concert series as “MERCI CHARLES”. In 2024, celebrating Charles Aznavour’s centenary, the project will embark on a world tour titled “TOUR D’Amour”, which will begin with a grand open-air concert in Cascade, Armenia in August. This tour, which includes the musical program "MERCI CHARLES", promises to showcase more than 20 of Aznavour's timeless songs.

Each concert, lasting an hour and a half, includes performances by five musicians: guitar and vocals, piano, drums, trumpet and double bass. After the concerts in Armenia, the tour will head to Europe in September 2024 and will visit the UAE for the first time: on October 25 in Dubai and on October 26, 2024 in Abu Dhabi. These concerts promise to be an unforgettable musical event dedicated to the enduring legacy of Charles Aznavour.
