Cinema center "Nizami" (Azerb. Nizami Kino Mərkəzi) — a unique cultural site located in the very heart of Baku, on Bulbul Avenue. This cinema, named after the outstanding poet Nizami Ganjavi, is one of the main centers of cinema in Azerbaijan. The cinema building, built in 1934 according to the design of architects Sadikh Dadashev and Mikael Useinov, embodies the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
After major repairs and reconstruction completed in November 2011, the Nizami Cinema Center reopened its doors to visitors. The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva, which emphasizes the importance of this cultural site. In the lobby of the cinema center there are stands with photographs reflecting the rich history of the cinema.
On the ground floor there are two cozy cinema halls with 50 and 80 seats, which are ideal for intimate screenings and arthouse cinema. On the second floor there is a large cinema hall with 500 seats, providing comfortable viewing for a wide audience. For connoisseurs of exclusive relaxation, there is a VIP cinema room with 24 seats on the fifth floor.
On the ground floor of the cinema center there are shopping kiosks where you can buy souvenirs and necessary little things. The second floor offers visitors a cozy café where they can enjoy drinks and light snacks before or after a session. The fourth floor includes a cafe-club and press center, and on the fifth and sixth floors there is a restaurant with 250 seats with a mechanically opening ceiling, which allows you to enjoy views of the city at any time of the year. Administrative offices are also located here.
