Azerbaijan - Estonia in Baku, Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium

The national teams of Azerbaijan and Estonia will play on November 16 as part of the group tournament of the UEFA Nations League at the stadium. Tofik Bakhramov in Baku.

The penultimate, 5th round of the UEFA Nations League group stage will take place from November 14 to 16, 2024. In the 2024/2025 season, the results of performance within the League will be tied to qualification for the 2026 World Cup. The national teams of Azerbaijan and Estonia have never participated in such a significant event as the World Cup, so victory in the group stage will be their first step to the World Cup.

So, in 2009, the Estonians won against Belgium with a score of 2:0, in 2013 the Serbs suffered a significant defeat: 1:3. The match, after which Estonia smelled the European Championship final for the first time, was remembered not only by fans of the Serbs or their opponents. Then fans throughout Europe were worried about its outcome. 

Jurgen Henn has been appointed head coach of the Estonia national team since June 2024. He began his coaching career in 2013, and before that he was a football player for such clubs as Flora and "Tulevik".  The meeting of the teams will take place at the stadium named after the world famous Azerbaijani referee – Tofika Bakhramov. The stadium seats over 30,000 fans and is ready to offer comfortable seats in the stands and boxes. The stadium was built in the 50s of the last century and underwent large-scale reconstruction in 2011.
